Accessibility
Ways to navigate the platform, request information in another format and tell us about an access barrier.
Our approach
We aim to make MarineEnergyCover usable across devices and by people with different access needs. WCAG 2.2 Level AA is our design target. This is not a claim of independently audited conformance or a guarantee that every page, document and combination of assistive technology is fully accessible.
Navigation and reading
The site includes a skip link to the main content, headings, labelled controls and visible keyboard focus. Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move between controls and Enter or Space to activate the appropriate control. The language menu supports arrow keys and Escape. Your browser's zoom and text-size settings can help you read content at a comfortable size.
Layouts adapt to smaller screens. Some comparison tables require horizontal scrolling; their surrounding region can receive keyboard focus. If text or a control becomes difficult to use at your preferred zoom, tell us the page and settings so we can investigate.
Forms, calculations and the client portal
Form fields have labels and required-field or validation messages. Review messages before moving to the next step. Use the application's save function where available and check for confirmation before closing the page. A language change is designed to preserve current form values and selected files, but it is not a substitute for saving your application.
The premium calculator updates its result without reloading and requires JavaScript. If you cannot use it, contact the team with your preferred communication method and the type of cover you need. Do not include sensitive records in a general request for accessibility help.
Languages and documents
You can choose English, Simplified Chinese, Greek, Arabic, German, French, Spanish or Turkish. Arabic uses a right-to-left layout. Translations are AI-assisted; ask for clarification if wording is unclear, especially where it affects insurance or legal decisions.
Uploaded records, scanned documents, third-party wording and previously issued PDFs may have different accessibility limitations. If a document is difficult to read, identify its title or reference and the format that would help, such as selectable text or a clearer digital copy. We will discuss what can be supplied and any limits relating to third-party or original documents.
Tell us about a barrier
Email info@marineenergycover.com with “Accessibility request” in the subject, or use the contact form if it is accessible to you. Please include:
- The page address, feature or document involved.
- What you were trying to do and where you encountered difficulty.
- Your browser, device and assistive technology, if you wish to share them.
- Your preferred way to receive information or continue the task.
You do not need to disclose a diagnosis. Avoid sending passwords or unnecessary personal information. We will review the report and discuss a practical alternative or next step. If the issue affects an urgent insurance deadline, also use the contact route in your policy.
Continuing improvement
Accessibility checks form part of interface changes, including keyboard operation and mobile layouts. Automated and spot checks cannot identify every barrier. Feedback from users helps prioritise improvements; unresolved service concerns can be raised through the complaints process.
