Regulatory Information
Understand the platform operator, the checks relevant to an insurance placement and where to verify the parties named in your documents.
Platform operator
MarineEnergyCover is the digital platform operated by Sky Beyond Ltd. The Companies House register identifies SKY BEYOND LTD, company number 15791231, as incorporated in England and Wales on 20 June 2024, with its registered office at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. These are corporate registration details, not evidence of permission to carry on a regulated insurance activity.
Company records were checked on 21 September 2026. Use the official register for current filings and status. A trading name, website, group relationship or commercial partnership does not by itself establish an insurer's authorisation or a platform's authority to bind insurance.
Verify the parties to your placement
Before accepting a quotation, obtain the legal names and roles of the insurer, any intermediary and any entity acting under delegated authority. Check the insurer's home jurisdiction, regulatory reference, relevant permissions and the territorial scope of the proposed service. Names and references should match the quotation, policy wording and official registers.
The UK Financial Conduct Authority maintains the Financial Services Register. The Prudential Regulation Authority publishes information about the insurers it regulates. Overseas providers may be regulated in their home jurisdiction and have separate permissions or restrictions for UK business. A UK branch and its overseas parent are not interchangeable legal entities.
Insurer and capacity information
The insurer responsible for a particular risk, any co-insurance shares, policy limits, exclusions and claims arrangements must be identified in the placement documentation. Capacity availability is not a premium rate and does not itself mean that a vessel is insured. The agreed insured value and each participating insurer's share should be clear before acceptance.
References to established insurers or Lloyd's market participants in educational material are not statements that they insure MarineEnergyCover customers or have delegated authority to this platform. We do not publish a provider as a partner solely because it offers marine insurance elsewhere.
Binding authority and confirmation of cover
A delegated authority must identify the granting insurer, the authorised entity, permitted classes, territories, limits, period of validity and conditions. A specimen agreement, company registration or another firm's regulatory reference is not a substitute for that authority.
An online application, indicative calculation, payment instruction or uploaded document does not bind insurance. Rely on the confirmation issued by the authorised party and the applicable policy documents. Check the start and end time, vessel particulars, trading limits, warranties and any outstanding conditions before operating in reliance on cover.
Premiums, money and documentation
Review the currency, premium, applicable taxes or fees, payment recipient and payment reference against the formal quotation. Ask for clarification where a payment account or beneficiary differs from the documented arrangement. Do not rely on changed bank instructions received only through an unsolicited message.
The premium calculator supports an enquiry; its result is not an insurer's commitment. Request the final premium and complete terms for your vessel or cargo. Keep the quotation, acceptance, payment record, policy wording and certificates together.
Complaints and compensation arrangements
Raise a concern using our Complaints page and identify the party and service involved. Access to the Financial Ombudsman Service or the Financial Services Compensation Scheme depends on the relevant firm, activity, contract and claimant eligibility. Corporate registration or use of this website does not establish either protection. Ask the named regulated firm to confirm which arrangements apply to your placement.
Sanctions and cross-border business
Marine placements may require checks on vessel identity, ownership, management, cargo, counterparties and routes. Insurance availability can be restricted by sanctions, licensing requirements, local law or policy terms. A global service description is not a promise that every risk or jurisdiction can be accepted. Provide complete and accurate information and report material changes.
Request the placement disclosure pack
Contact info@marineenergycover.com for the operator, intermediary, insurer, authority, complaints and payment disclosures relevant to your enquiry. Include the application or quotation reference where available. Verify the named parties independently before accepting terms; do not send passwords or sensitive documents in a general email.
