Security
Practical safeguards for your account, documents and payments, and how to report a suspected problem.
Protect your account
Use a strong password that you do not reuse elsewhere. Keep access limited to authorised users and protect the email account used for sign-in and password resets. Enable multi-factor authentication where offered in your account. Never share one-time verification codes, authenticator codes or recovery codes with someone who contacts you unexpectedly.
Sign out on shared devices. If your email, device or account may have been compromised, change the affected credentials and contact the team through a trusted route. Do not assume that changing one password revokes access to every linked service.
How the platform protects information
The website uses HTTPS for information in transit. Passwords are stored as password hashes rather than readable passwords. Access to private records and downloads is checked against the authenticated user's permissions. Supporting documents are stored outside the public website and encrypted; upload controls restrict accepted files and handle files pending the configured review or scanning process.
These are specific platform controls, not a guarantee against every threat or a claim of independent security certification. Security also depends on users, devices, service providers and correct operational handling.
Share documents through the right channel
Use your authenticated application or client portal to send private supporting records. Check that each upload belongs to the correct application and includes only the information needed. Do not send confidential documents, medical details or credentials through public chat.
Keep original documents and check that an upload completed successfully. A successful upload confirms receipt by the platform, not verification of its contents, underwriting acceptance or approval of a claim.
Check payment instructions independently
Open the site using a saved bookmark or by typing marineenergycover.com yourself. Review the payment request inside your authenticated account, including the beneficiary, currency, amount and reference.
Treat an unexpected change of bank details, urgency to bypass checks or a request to pay a personal account as a reason to stop and verify. Confirm changes through a previously established contact route, not solely the phone number or link supplied in the suspicious message. If you believe you sent money to the wrong recipient, contact your bank promptly as well as the team.
Report a suspected incident
Email info@marineenergycover.com with “Security concern” in the subject, or use the contact form. Include the affected page or account reference, approximate date and time, what you observed and a safe way to contact you. Share screenshots only after removing secrets and unrelated personal information.
Never include your password, complete payment credentials or authentication codes. If a vulnerability appears to expose another person's information, stop accessing it and report the minimum details needed to reproduce the issue safely. This page does not authorise intrusive testing, access to other accounts or disruption of the service.
Recognise legitimate communications
Check the full website address and sender details. A familiar logo or displayed sender name is not proof of authenticity. The website assistant cannot verify a new beneficiary, request your password or authorise a payment. Ask a team member to clarify any unusual instruction before acting.
