Marine Insurance Calculator API
Give maritime visitors a useful starting point: an indicative vessel or cargo insurance estimate, followed by a direct route into the MarineEnergyCover application.
One pricing engine, a restricted integration
The approved partner API calculates indicative premiums only. It provides no access to customers, applications, documents, payments, underwriting decisions or insurance certificates. Requests must originate from your server; browser cross-origin access is not enabled.

Response and continuation
The response includes product, currency, insured_value, rate_percent, base_premium, discount, additional_war_risk, final_premium, period, disclaimer and continuation_url. A null premium means “Request Underwriting Quote”; never display zero as if this were free cover. Fees are zero in the indicative calculation; any applicable final charges must be stated in the formal terms.
The authenticated continuation URL expires after 30 minutes and carries calculator inputs only. Display it as a customer-initiated link. Do not rewrite it, send customer names or contact details into the API, or treat the response as an accepted quotation.
Key handling and limits
Keys have the scope estimate:read, an expiry of at most 365 days and an assigned limit of 1–120 requests per minute. Keys are displayed once and stored as a hash. Keep them out of browser JavaScript, URLs and logs. Ask the administrator to revoke and replace a key if exposed.
- 401: missing, expired or revoked key.
- 403: suspended partner or browser-origin request.
- 422: invalid calculator inputs.
- 429: rate limit reached; retry after 60 seconds.
An estimate is the start of a conversation
Indicative premium estimate only. Final premium and coverage are subject to underwriting approval, vessel specifications, route, claims history, policy limits, deductibles, capacity availability and final policy terms.
The calculator does not bind insurance, accept premiums or issue certificates. Customers complete their application on MarineEnergyCover. Payment and policy issuance follow the platform’s separate verification and authorization checks.
